Where can I find the census of Luxembourg? (2023)
Population censuses are a complementary source to the Civil Registers on household composition . Consultation of census is possible on microfilm at the National Archives (
www.anlux.lu
) for the period of 1806 (partial) to 1935. Take at least a glance at the census of 1864 showing also the housename for this family house. The census of 1895 shows on the first sheet the people living in the household and on the second, persons belonging to the household , but absent in the census due to work abroad or any other impediment. Attention to data that are not always reliable.
FamilySearch.org have posted census from 1843 to 1900 for the Grand Duchy to their website. Go
to their site
to reach townships page and then find the census for the chosen township and period!
