The oldest of the Luxembourg Internet sites for genealogy data www.roots.lu , with data from the parish register of Luxembourg-City, Diekirch, Ettelbrück, Mersch, Hesperange, Septfontaines, Schoenberg, Roeser, ...; the lists of the Maria-Theresa census of 1766 of the deaneries of Bastogne, Mersch, Ouffet and Stavelot; the genealogy of the families: WILTGEN, SINNER, THIELEN, HUBERTY, HAMES, GUEIBE, ... ; other information about places and other useful information.
the regional genealogy project www.luxroots.com with the details of about 260.000 records of births/baptisms and marriages of the five cantons of Northern Luxembourg (Clervaux, Wiltz, Vianden, Redange and Diekirch), the cantons of Echternach and Mersch and the Belgian, German and Luxembourg frontier regions.
The Forum for genealogy and local history www.généalogie.lu is a website with questions and answers, with information on the genealogy search in Luxembourg, searches by descendants of emigrants from Luxembourg, and the answers to these questions from the visitors. Nearly 700 questions are waiting for their answer! To ask or answer a question, you must register (free)!

luxroots.com and the Senior Clubs of Dudelange, Bereldange, Hupperdange, Wasserbillig, Kehlen, Ettelbruck, Strassen and Rumelange are organizing free Genealogy courses starting in September in order to get more people interested in this nice hobby and in our project. More information in our calendar.
Our workshops to help you start in genealogy, to help with programs on your computers and on the Internet will start again on September 4th. The workshops will be given free of charge in a room at the Hall Omnisports in Leudelange. For more details and dates for the period September to December 2010, check this page and register if interested.

During the last month, our associate Joseph SCHLOESSER finished the data input of the 7.603 baptisms 1666 to 1803 of the parish of Niederwiltz ; Georges EICHER has entered the 2.718 births 1890-1923 of the City of Ettelbruck . The data input of births of Diekirch and Ettelbruck will be finished by end of the year.

Some interested people have announced their future collaboration in our ever-growing project. We need more staff in order to help us with the data input of records for the following Townships and parishes .
