Our next monthly 2nd Thursday meeting i.e. February 10th, 2011 is held in a room of the new Cultural Center in Leudelange and focuses on Luxemburgensia and Genealogy.
Our colleague Fons WILTGEN has established a list of books and documentations with genealogical data representing additional sources to the traditional archives with their parochia and civil registers, and so on. Member of a genealogical association or not - you're all welcome!
Laurent MOYSE will hold a conference about the Jewish Genealogy in Luxembourg on the 2nd Thursday of March

For events in genealogy and local history, please take a look at our

The staff of the National Archives starts their courses in paleography on this February 3rd with old German of the 19th century. Beginners or advanced researchers can register for the next courses starting in September. For more details, click

Schieren by Paulette GRUN-BESCH
1.212 births 1875-1923 of the township of
Mertzig by Jos SCHREINER
1.197 births 1850-1923 of the township of
Erpeldange by Agnès & Armand SERRES-HEINEN as well as Jean-Pierre WEIDERT.

Starting this January, a new associate has joined our team and has already entered 500 births: Tiger NICOLAAS, with seventeen years, our youngest associate, is a born American with roots to the Luxembourgish KLONTZ-FLICK, and BRAND-SCHOETTERT families of Binsfeld/Breidfeld in the township of Weiswampach. He is currently living as a student in Münnerstadt (Bavaria, Germany) and is working with his knowledge of the old Sütterlin script on the births of the former township of Arzfeld.We need more associates to help us with the data input of records for the following
Townships and parishes. Which associate is working on what today ?

Hierber Musék have issued a book for their 125th anniversary including also genealogical data of the houses from Herborn, Mompach, Givenich over 250 pages by Roby GROSCH & Jean-Claude MULLER - People who are interested can contact: Paul SCHOELLEN (71 05 31) or Raymond SCHOU (691 45 84 65).

SEGNIA, Houffalize is publishing in 4/2010 the 3rd continuation of the commissions and employments in Houffalize during the 2nd half of 18th century.
The number 1/2011 of the
Prümer Land has been published and contains some interesting articles and pictures from their region.
The monthly sheet 1/2011 of the History and Museum association
Zwischen Venn und Schneifel, St.Vith begins an article series on Lawyers from the court records of Bütgenbach.
